The Easy Trick to Packing a Snackle Box
At first, it might feel overwhelming to fill all those little compartments—but it’s easy once you learn my simple trick: Pick 2 to 3 items from each of four key categories. That’s it! Mix and match depending on your box size and preferences, and you’re good to go.
Here are the four categories. When you are at the store or writing your shopping list simply grab a few things from each section and your box will be ready to go! Remember you aren’t limited to this list or these ideas so if you see something else you love go for it!

Other Ideas for your Snackle Box
You don’t have to use your snack boxes for just snacks here are some great ways to use your boxes:
- Sandwich Makings – Turn your box into a DIY sandwich bar. Include sliced deli meats, cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and mini rolls or wraps. Add squeezable mayo or mustard packets and let everyone build their own fresh sandwich.
- Tackle Box Charcuterie – Want to elevate your snack game? Use your box for a mini charcuterie board. Add cured meats, gourmet cheeses, crackers, dried fruits, olives, and nuts. Perfect for a grown-up picnic or sunset at the beach.
- Candy and Dessert – Have a sweet tooth? Create a dessert box with your favorite candies, cookies, mini cupcakes, trail mix with chocolate chips, or even chocolate-covered pretzels. Great for birthdays, movie nights, or party favors!
- Mini Salad Bar – Prep a build-your-own salad box! Include cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, shredded carrots, cheese, croutons, chickpeas, sunflower seeds, and more. Serve it alongside a container of lettuce and a small jar of dressing.
Final Tips for Snackle Box Success
- Keep it cold: If you’re packing perishable items, don’t forget an ice pack or insulated lunch bag. I find that a backpack cooler works really well.
- Portion smart: Use cupcake liners or silicone baking cups inside compartments to hold dips like hummus.
- Go seasonal: Fresh fruit and veggies taste best in season—and cost less!
- Get the kids involved: Let them help pick items and pack their own box—it makes them more likely to eat it too!
