Super Easy Crispy Air Fryer Brussel Spouts
Great for a weeknight dinner this is a simple air fryer recipe that makes a perfect side dish. Using the air fryer has become one of my favorite ways to make fresh brussels sprouts because it takes minimal time, minimal oil, and comes out with crispy yet tender brussels sprouts everytime.
Brussels sprouts are well known for being healthy. Along with other cruciferous veggies brussel sprouts may help protect against cancers, they may also help you stave off other health issues, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease, and diabetes.
I think these crispy brussel sprouts are great for pairing with almost any main dish but are especially great with Glazed Honey Garlic Salmon Bites or Blackened Fish Tacos With Mango Salsa.
Ingredients
- Brussel Sprouts – The Brussels sprout is a member of the Gemmifera group of cabbages, grown for its delicious edible buds.
- Olive Oil – I like cooking with olive oil but you could really use any oil for this recipe.
- Kosher Salt – Sea salt can be substituted if you don’t have kosher salt. If you only have table salt available use about half of the amount.

Instructions
Preheat Your Air Fryer: Begin by preheating your air fryer to 375°F. Preheating ensures that your Brussels sprouts will cook evenly.
Prepare the Brussels Sprouts: While your air fryer is preheating, prepare the Brussels sprouts. Trim the ends and cut them in half. If any outer leaves look unpleasant, remove them to ensure your dish looks as good as it tastes.
Coat with Olive Oil: In a large mixing bowl, toss the Brussels sprouts with olive oil until they are well coated. Adding the oil will make sure they are perfectly crispy.
Season with Salt: Sprinkle the Brussels sprouts with kosher salt.
Air Fry to Perfection: Transfer the seasoned Brussels sprouts to the preheated air fryer basket. Cook for 12-15 minutes, shaking or tossing the sprouts every 3-4 minutes. This ensures that they cook evenly and develop a golden brown exterior while remaining tender on the inside. Remember cooking time will vary with what brand of air fryer you have so keep an eye on them towards the end of cooking.
variations
Make these brussel sprouts your own and try any of these variations:
- Add more besides salt! Before cooking try adding garlic powder, black pepper, red pepper flakes. Or even use a seasoning blend like ranch seasoning or a bbq rib rub!
- Add more flavor besides seasonings before cooking. Some other good ideas to add to the brussel sprouts before cooking include adding maple syrup, soy sauce, or a touch of lemon juice.
- Add flavor after cooking! To the cooked brussels sprouts trying sprinkling with parmesan cheese, drizzling with balsamic vinegar, or balsamic glaze.
