Ranch Seasoning Mix Recipe
Ahh Ranch, America’s most beloved Dressing & Dip.
I get it, it really is a great flavor combo. The bummer about Ranch Dressing is so much of it is bugged down with a lot of fats, oils, and chemicals, especially the shelf stable ranch you buy at the grocery store.
So instead of buying ranch dressing at the store I like to make homemade ranch mix. By making my own ranch seasoning at home I can control what goes into my dips, dressings, or whatever else I am using it in!
To make my own dipping sauce you can see how I do that in my Healthy Yogurt Ranch Dip Recipe.
I also like to use the seasoning in place of fatty dressings to make my Healthier Bacon Ranch Potato Salad.
You can also add your DIY Ranch Seasoning to roasted vegetables (you have to try some on potatoes), as a seasoning for homemade popcorn, or even add to a dry rub for chicken!
Ingredients for Ranch Seasoning
- Dried Parsley
- Dried Chives
- Dried Dill
- Garlic Powder
- Onion Powder
- Kosher Salt
NOTE: Many ranch seasonings will contain buttermilk powder. While I do like buttermilk especially in ranch I do not add it to my version of ranch seasoning. I don’t add it for a couple reasons, the first is shelf life and storage. The second is for versatility, I can always add in dried buttermilk or buttermilk if I want to, when I leave it out the seasoning mixture allows me to do more. Plus this way it is handy for all sorts of Diets including vegan and dairy free diets!
Instructions, Yes it really is that easy….
Mix all the spices together in a bowl or jar. Store in an airtight container.
If you want to mix into a dip I recommend about 1 tablespoon per 1 cup of plain yogurt or sour cream, give a taste and add more if wanted!
